Why This Story Matters

For most of my life, I told stories through movement.

Dance carried me from East Los Angeles to the stages of Europe and through chapters of life I never expected to survive.

Eventually, I realized there were stories that could no longer be told through choreography alone.

Candles Beneath the City is a story of performance, love, loss, addiction, recovery, and the people who carried me forward when I could no longer find my own way.

At its heart, it is a story about resilience—and the light we leave for one another along the way.
